In 1994, artist and former Santa Monica Airlines team manager Russ Pope founded Creature Skateboards. Although the brand initially ceased operations in 1995, it was revived in 2005 through the efforts of Santa Cruz art director Lee Charon and team rider Darren Navarrette, bringing the brand back into the spotlight.

From the beginning, Creature Skateboards stood out for its bold, horror-inspired artwork and unmistakable identity. Its distinctive aesthetic quickly attracted a loyal following of skaters who were drawn to its darker, more rebellious style. Even today, the brand maintains a dedicated fan base, especially among those who appreciate its eerie green color palette and macabre graphic themes that helped define its look in the skateboarding world.

Creature Skateboards is best known for its uniquely designed decks, often featuring striking imagery such as skeletons, devils, dragons, and snakes, along with the iconic Creature logo.
